Team building is an important tool in the life of a company. It helps to strengthen team cohesion, but also to motivate employees.
In order for your next team building to be a real success and to help you achieve your goals, we have prepared a small checklist for you so that you don’t leave anything to chance.
☑️ STEP #1: DEFINE THE OBJECTIVE OR OBJECTIVES OF YOUR TEAM BUILDING.
This is the most important step. A team building can, among other things, have the following objectives:
– to improve communication within a team
– to improve communication between different hierarchical levels
– to integrate new collaborators
– to ease tensions
– to strengthen the bonds between the collaborators
– to analyze the potential of employees in their way of managing, taking initiatives, obeying orders, etc.
By defining one or more clear objectives, you increase the chances of success of your team building.
☑️ STEP #2: DETERMINE THE CATEGORY OF GUESTS.
The category of participants depends on the objectives you have determined beforehand.
☑️ STEP #3: DETERMINE A DATE.
☑️ STEP #4: DETERMINE A LOCATION OR TYPE OF SITE YOU WOULD LIKE.
We would recommend that you do not carry out your team building within your premises, but rather favor an external, neutral setting, so that your participants remain solely focused on the activities and on the group.
Team building can also be integrated into a seminar or a management committee.
☑️ STEP #5: CHOOSE AN ACTIVITY IN LINE WITH YOUR OBJECTIVE, THE VALUES OF YOUR COMPANY AND THE TYPE OF PARTICIPANTS.
You will inevitably find an activity among the many possibilities offered to you:
– Fun activities (Olympics, treasure hunts, escape games, etc.)
– Creative activities (cooking lessons, pastry making, making beers, soaps, etc.)
– Sports activities (walking rally, cycling, tennis, golf, etc.)
– Mechanical activities (challenge karting, rally in 2 CV, …)
– Relaxation activities (spa, bike rides, horseback riding, segway, karaoke night, etc.)
– Cultural activities (visits to monuments, tasting of local products, etc.)
Be careful that the activity chosen is well suited to your objective and to the whole group (athletes, men, women, pregnant women, etc.).
☑️ STEP #6: DETERMINE A NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS.
☑️ STEP #7: ESTABLISH A BUDGET.
☑️ STEP # 8: CONTACT YOUR EVENT AGENCY AND SEND THEM YOUR SPECIFICATIONS.
☑️ STEP #9: CHOOSE FROM THE PROPOSALS SUBMITTED BY YOUR EVENT AGENCY.
☑️ STEP # 10: INFORM THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED TEAM BUILDING.
Once the team building has been validated, we would recommend that you inform the participants of the objective of the activity. This information will allow them to better understand your approach and feel valued.
They will then be confident and will go to the activity in all serenity and motivated.
☑️ STEP # 11: ENJOY YOUR EVENT!

☑️ STEP # 12: DEBRIEF WITH THE PARTICIPANTS AND THE MANAGEMENT A FEW DAYS AFTER THE TEAM BUILDING!
This step is important in order to be able to collect the feelings of the participants as well as their possible criticisms. It also makes it possible to ensure that the objectives have been achieved and to determine an action plan.
